James Kiser is a native of the Harrisonburg area, and has been involved with music his entire life. He enjoys a wide variety of music from classical to modern, and most things in between. James grew up attending Harrisonburg Baptist Church, and was active musically throughout his youth via Piano, Choir, Handbells, and [church] Musicals. In 2008 James founded a community musical organization, V.O.I.C.E. with the purpose of giving back to the community through the Arts. He directed them until 2022 and is so proud that they are still going strong. In his spare time [whatever that is] James can be found directing local musical theatre for community organizations such as the Off Broadway Players. James also enjoys the outdoors, camping, horticulture, and has a growing appreciation for apothecary and homesteading.
James returned to Church music via Bethany UMC in Weyers Cave, as their part-time pianist. He came to Bridgewater UMC in February 2026 as their choir director and is thrilled for the opportunity to share and enhance worship through music.
