"Teach them to love!"

Scriptures: 1 John 4:19, Psalms 51:10, Philippians 4:9, Proverbs 22:6 - NIV

1 John 4:19

We love because He first loved us.

Psalms 51:10

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Philippians 4:9

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Proverbs 22:6

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

These are multiple Verses that I have read through my daily Bible Reading app recently. They really speak to me right now because I am a teacher and have seen, heard about, and worked to support children through very hard situations in the past and currently. Most importantly, because Drea and I are new parents this year, we hear a newfound meaning with these powerful Verses.

The overwhelming theme: Love, and only the Love that is from God!
The question then becomes, as adults, what do we do with that Love?

As we are always called to do, we share it with others! We also work to grow in ourselves the Love and Spirit of Christ. This is the first step to teaching others about this Love. If we don't have it within ourselves, how can we expect ourselves to share it with others, or expect them to share it with us?

We are all Jesus' sheep, and thanks to this, we have the most perfect Teachers and Guides to lead us along the way! The beautiful thing about His teachings and Word is that we ALWAYS can learn more - lifelong learning at its finest!

And, we have the opportunity as adults to teach our children and those around us in His Ways. That is how we make our world truly great. Not by political, economic, or military clout. Rather, with Christ's Love!
